In case someone might be interested - my problems got solved. The two component problems must be caused by template configuration tp_classic from Joomlaplates. The problems got fixed by loading a Preset of the template from my other Joomla4 installation. As yet I don't know how it worked, but the site is running fine yet.
The problem with the missing read more tag got caused by setting "Read More" link to hide with Articles Options. For this problem I would had desired a hint in this forum.
